Display Entries Posted March 02, 2010 7:25 pm Welcome To Our Wedding Website! Hello Family and Friends!
We would like to welcome you to our wedding website! On this site, you will find details about the ceremony, helpful information about lodging, photos of us, our honeymoon registry, and this fun blog:) Please feel free to browse the site, and check back periodically for additions.
By now, everyone should have received a "Save The Date" postcard, and hopefully, it serves a a whimsical reminder about our BIG DAY.
So far, these are the ways our postcards have been used or displayed by our loved ones:
1. On the fridge
2. As a bookmark
3. Tacked to a cork board
... And our absolute favorite...
4. As a dust pan to sweep up a pile of debris! This one gets extra points for creativity!
As long as you see it often, the postcard will serve its purpose of reminding you about the wedding. If you cannot attend the ceremony, hopefully the postcard will serve a reminder that we will be thinking of you in your absence.
With Love,
C&J
March 17, 2010 6:30 pm The Cheesecake Story So here's the story of how Chris popped the question (and how I unknowingly tried to stop it:)
One day out of the blue, Chris tells me that we're driving down to San Francisco to meet his big brother, Phil, and his lovely wife, BeLinda. This didn't strike me as strange because whenever we go to dinner with them, we meet them in San Francisco... it's kind of the mid point between the two cities where the brothers live. While in San Francisco, we wander around by the pier, browse in the souvenir shops and buy a few trinkets while waiting for our reservation time to come around. The whole time I kept thinking that the 3 of them were acting kind of weird and making lots of "winky" eye contact, but I just blew it off because it wasn't anything substantial.
We get to dinner and its lovely, of course. We dined at one of our favorite italian restaurants that serves the best authentic, mom and pop dishes. After we all finish eating, the drama starts. The waiter suggests a lovely cheesecake for dessert, and of course everyone at the table agrees that cheesecake sounds delicious- everyone except me. Immediately I blurt out, "No thanks, I don't like cheesecake". Chris tells me that I should just try it and I respond by repeating some lines from one of his most famous speeches about wasting food. The waiter begins sweating bullets because Chris and I start chatting back and forth about why I don't want the cheesecake because I know he's just gonna eat two pieces if I don't finish it, and all those empty calories aren't good for us, and blah, blah, blah. Finally, the poor waiter says, "i'll just bring it on the house" and walks away.
Then, I decide that I have to use the restroom. I motion to BeLinda (because we girls travel in packs to the potty) and I proceed to head to the restroom. I wondered why BeLinda didn't come, but I just figured she didn't have to go. In hindsight, I'm sure the 3 of them were cracking up while I was gone. Once I return to the table, I notice that there are only 3 plates of cheesecake and I say "good, I'm going to tell the waiter not to bring mine because I don't like cheesecake". In a cartoon-like unison, the 3 of them started saying how that wouldn't be necessary because the waiter would be back shortly with another one. Apparently, he had come to complete the surprise while I was off fixing my make up in the bathroom. When the waiter returned, I was about to tell him that he didn't need to bring any dessert for me, but he sat the plate down rather quickly in an effort to silence me.
Of course, I felt like an idiot once I read the proposal that Chris had requested them to write on the plate. I turned to him in shock and he was on one knee with a beautiful ring. I could barely say yes because I was covering my face in sheer embarrassment for trying to send his proposal back to the kitchen.
Needless to say, the waiter got a really big tip that night!

July 01, 2010 9:47 am Location Update Hello All,
Due to the island having a particularly rainy season, the wedding site has been changed. The address where the ceremony and reception will take place is 13 14th Street, Tybee Island, GA 31328. We are still planning to be on the beach, but this location is better suited to provide shelter in case of rain. Thanks for your understanding!

Please note that this location is more toward the southern end of the island... but since the island is only about 2 miles long, it still is not far from the original site. Thanks for your understanding.
