A little trivia about us...
Clinton and I met in June of 2007 by chance...well, sort of by chance. My friends set up my profile and signed me up on Match.com without my knowledge. You can only imagine how that went over at first! After a couple months, the whole thing grew tiresome for me and I was going to let my account expire. As it turns out, Clinton was going to cancel his account for the same reasons, but as luck (or fate?) would have it, we met 3 days before that happened. With both of us being guarded from our pasts and to the whole dating thing in general, it took a couple weeks of getting to know you e-mails and phone calls before we decided to meet in person. That lunch date turned into 2 1/2 hours of laughing and conversation, which escalated to several phone calls and e-mails a day. Our second date was even more perfect; no ackward stalls in conversation and it felt as if we had known each other forever. There was big time chemistry between us, and we both thought "Hang on, here we go!" This would also be the date where I unexpedtedly met Clinton's parents when they stopped by to say hello, not long after Devin had thrown me in the pool...fully clothed. Nothing like making a first impression as a drowned rat, right?! The day after that second date, Clinton left to go on a week long trip to Hawaii that he had planned months ago. I admit I thought "This has been fun...but I bet I never hear from him again"... (There's that whole guardedness thing I mentioned...) But, his text from the plane telling me he wished I was with him assured me I was wrong about that! After his 4th call to me from Hawaii, I knew I was gone, and so was he.
Things progressed quickly after that, and from the beginning we made our kids a priority in our relationship. As a result, each of us are now blessed with two children and the love and loyalty of family we both never thought we would have. Devin and Dalton are siblings in the true sense of the word; they will defend each other to the death, but then turn around and want to kill each other the next minute. Gotta love it! We have been surrounded by the love and support of our close friends and family as our relationship has progressed, and for that we will be forever grateful. Our faith has grown as well as we have already faced challenges together that many people may never face. Rather than let those hard times tear us apart, we have come together as a couple in ways that are hard to explain.
Thank you for being such an important part of our lives!
In Love and Friendship,
Traci & Clinton
