Chris and I met through a friend and started dating in October of 2004. Our first date was at the County Fair to see Velvet Revolver on Halloween. I met his friends Greg and Jo for the first time there. Greg was, let's say, not sober and I thought he was absolutely crazy! We soon were spending a lot of time together. We would lay on the couch for a whole Sunday and watch HGTV until the shows started repeating. We did the same with Chapelle Show watching the entire season on DVD. We found commonalities in music. I think in one year we saw 16 shows. That's more than one a month! We also love to travel. Our first trip was to Vegas. Right before we were to leave, I got deathly ill with the worst flu I'd ever had. I debated not going but wanted out first trip to be special. I medicated myself and we went. At the large cat den I proceeded to have a huge allergy attack and on top of that I had an asthma attack at Excaliber. Chris walked all the way to the opposite end of the strip to get my inhaler. Chris is always doing nice things like that for me. He never forgets an anniversary or birthday and showers me w/ gifts and sweet cards at holidays. I'm so blessed. We've been fortunate enough to go on a lot of trips. Europe, Chicago, Portland, California, Colorado and of course Disneyland. I had not been since I was five until I met Chris. I think we've been almost twice a year in 4 years and even went to Disneyland Paris. Chris proposed to me at Disneyland at the Snow White alcove. It was very sweet and romantic. I'm so lucky to love and to like my man, and now we enter that forever journey of marriage. -- Lisa

We are so excited about the wedding. Our ceremony will be at the Japanese Friendship Garden in Downtown Phoenix. The location is at Margaret T Hance Park, 1125 N. 3rd Ave, a top the I-10 Tunnel, in downtown Phoenix. www.japanesefriendshipgarden.org
The ceremony will be at 4PM. Plan plenty of time for driving and parking. From Central Av and Roosevelt, drive west on Roosevelt, turn north onto 3rd AV (one way going north), the JFG are a little ways up on your right. If you get to the overpass, you've gone too far and you'd have to circle all the way around again. Go to their website for a map.
The JFG is a place we are very well acquainted with. My Uncle Mark is with the City of Phoenix Parks and Recreation and managed that project from the ground up. It's beautiful, serene and unique.

The reception is right next door to JFG at the Irish Cultural Center. The address is 1106 North Central AV and their website is www.azirish.org. After the ceremony, all guests will be led by a Dixie Land Jazz band to the ICC. Appetizers will be served while we finish up with the photographer and Baby Kays will be catering our dinner. We'll listen to the band for a bit then have a DJ later on. Oh, and CAKE! I'm so excited for the cake!

We finally decided to go to Maui! We can fly there direct and pretty fast. No real risk of hurricanes and plenty to do. We booked a hotel just a short walk to the beach with an 'ocean view'. We've been so busy that we haven't even thought about anything except just relaxing. We'll be there for a week and leave a few days after the wedding. We're so excited!

Chris and I talked about eloping. Just seems easier sometimes. But, truly we love our group of friends and family and would miss the chance to celebrate with you and have you join us in our special day. Love to you all. -- Lisa and Chris
